March with Rainbow Mobile during the Joe Cain People’s Procession on Sunday, March 3rd!
Simply join the Lineup between 1:30 and 2pm at the Civic Center on Claiborne St. on Joe Cain Sunday. Look for our group in our Rainbow Mobile t-shirts, banner, and pride flags. Bring your own as well!
Parade start time: 2:30pm
Arrival time: 1:30 – 2:00pm Please be there ready to roll and receive your button. Everyone MUST have a button to parade.
Staging area: We are hopeful that we can just line up on Claiborne behind the Chief’s wagon. However, at this time that has not been confirmed. Unless otherwise told please meet up on Auditorium Drive near the Malaga Hotel back door.
Parade route: The Joe Cain Procession takes Parade route A. It is about 2.5 miles long and we usually arrive back at that Auditorium around 4-4:30. For a map of the parade route, please visit: http://www.mobilemask.com/parade-routes.html
Cost: There is NEVER a cost to walk in the Joe Cain Procession!
However, The Joe Cain Marching Society does have to pay the cost of the insurance, parade permit and button so donations are always accepted. You can donate by going to their website: https://joecainmarchers.com/
Attire: You may wear anything you want to walk in the procession. We HIGHLY DISCOURAGE wearing any Native American attire, or painting your face red, out of respect for our indigenous family. Please be just be sure everything private is covered. Costumes or at least a mask or silly hat are encouraged but not required. Fun is always required!
Throws: Throws are not required. There are some people that just want to dance in the streets and that is fine! If you do decide to bring
throws please DO NOT bring large boxes. These are against the
Mobile Police rules. You can have a cart or wagon to put your
throws in but NO MOTORIZED carts.
Adult Beverages: Adult beverages are fine. NO GLASS of any kind and please don’t throw trash on the parade route. (beer cans etc)
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions!
